List includes Jeffries veterans, existing Board staff, and private sector experience
Riverside: Supervisor-Elect Kevin Jeffries today released his staff roster, along with brief bios and primary responsibilities in the new 1st District Office. “I am very pleased with the quality staff we have been able to assemble for the residents of the 1st District,” said Jeffries. “While they will not actually be working for me until January, and I will not be sworn in until January 8th, we have already begun planning for when we take office, so that we can hit the ground running in the new year.”
“I will be bringing my Chief of Staff Jeff Greene, as well as Kerstin Justus and Kristen Huyck from my Assembly Office. They have worked closely with me for several years, and will form the backbone of my staff. Lake Elsinore City Councilman Bob Magee is one of my oldest friends and has a wealth of experience in the private sector, transportation, and planning, and will be doing our land use, development, and local transportation issues. There is nobody who better understands Health and Social Services issues in the county better than Robin Reid, and it is a critical component of what the county does, so we poached her from Supervisor Jeff Stone’s Office. I worked with Thomas Ketcham in my volunteer fire service days, and his private sector experience and bilingual skills will be of great assistance in our Hispanic outreach as well as in other areas of constituent help. We are also retaining Elena Bautista and Kayla Benites from Supervisor Bob Buster’s staff. We heard great things about Elena and Kayla from both inside and outside the county building, and are very pleased to have them and their experience in the 1st District.”
The staff list, titles, and bios follow, in alphabetical order:
Elena H. Bautista—Board Assistant (Bi-lingual): Joined the 1st District staff in 2005 as the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Coordinator, where she was responsible for recruiting members, organizing community service activities and facilitating meetings. Upon graduation from UC Riverside in 2008, Supervisor Bob Buster appointed her as a Board Assistant, where she was responsible for scheduling, proclamations and resolutions, constituent response, and assisted with community events. Elena will be the lead secretary in the Riverside office, and assist with health and social services issues, among other duties. She recently completed her MS in Counseling and Guidance, PPS from CSU San Bernardino.
