September 2012 Campaign Update

Thank You!  I’m in this run-off election because voters, volunteers and donors made it all happen (though voter fatigue with the 20 year Incumbent certainly helped as well!). Over the next 60 days I will need your help to bring new ideas and leadership to the First District office. We need a First District County Supervisor that will be honest, accessible, willing to listen and willing to shake-up an entrenched bureaucracy that seems to have forgotten that it works for you!

The Issues!  Over the past 20 years, the energy and interest of the Incumbent seems to decline with each passing election. Only in the months leading up to an election do we hear from the Incumbent. This election is no exception. With just 60 days to go, the Incumbent, who controls a large taxpayer-funded political slush fund, is quickly giving away your hard earned tax dollars to just about any group or club that will give him free media coverage for his attempt to get elected to a 6th term.

The neglected issues of local Job Creation, Public Safety, Roads, Private Property Rights, Protecting our Quality of Life, Pension Reform (especially for elected County Supervisors) and an Open & Transparent First District Office are all once again being given lip service by the Incumbent and will quickly be put on the back burner once the election passes. Rest assured these issues will be front and center should I have the honor of serving you.

Get Ready!  If past elections are indicators of what is to come – then get ready for the Incumbent to say or do whatever it takes to win. His campaign records indicate that he spent his contributions on misguided efforts to sue my campaign, pay for out-of-town political firms to make misleading phone calls and to send campaign mail pieces that attempted to re-write history. The Incumbent doesn’t like the fact that I led efforts to - STOP a $58 billion in tax increases on families & small businesses (he endorsed the failed increase), or that I OPPOSED a plan which is now giving convicted criminals early release from our jails and back into our communities (he voted to endorse the plan). Incredibly, the Incumbent has even attacked me for leading a 5 year effort to require that State Legislators be given time to actually read proposed legislation before they vote. It seems clear the Incumbent has been in office far too long when he actually starts working against long over-due government transparency and reform efforts.

You Can Help!  During the June Primary election 62% of the voters did NOT support the 20 year Incumbent—a tremendous sign of his vulnerability heading towards November.  If you are ready for new ideas and new leadership in the First District office then I need your help!  If you would like a campaign yard sign or would like to volunteer, please visit my campaign website at: www.KevinJeffries.com

We also need your financial help (big, small or anything in between). Please help with a contribution to:

Respectfully,

Kevin Jeffries
