Jeffries Opposes Early Release of 1500 Inmates in Riverside County (05/21/2012)

Over 1500 Inmates Given Early Release in Riverside County!
In just a few weeks you can lay the ground work for a new direction in Riverside County.

Let’s put an end to the Early Release madness that is threatening the safety of our communities.

In 2011, the Board of Supervisors endorsed a plan to raise our taxes by $58 billion and to keep convicted felons in our overcrowded county jails instead of sending them to state prisons where they belong. The vote was 3-2 with our 20 year incumbent casting the deciding vote. Today, over 1500 inmates have already been given early release from our county jails and are back in our communities because of this misguided plan and failed tax, costing the county (and our cities) millions of dollars and endangering our neighborhoods. Public safety must be a top priority!

Riverside County is a great place to live and work – if you can find the work!

Our unemployment numbers are still staggering. Many of our neighbors and friends have given up trying to find jobs. Let’s cut regulations and delays and help small businesses open their doors and bring jobs to Riverside County. Recent surveys show that Riverside County is one of the least business friendly regions in the least friendly state in the country, and that cannot continue. We need jobs – not red tape!

Big pensions continue for elected officials.

The incumbent has been attacking me from the minute he decided to seek a 6th term. His public employee pension is estimated at $139,000 for life! I don’t believe that county supervisors should be given a public employee pension – period. In fact, I won’t accept a pension if elected. I’ve been a small business owner for 30 years. I will fund my own retirement out of my pocket – NOT yours!

We can wipe the slate clean of the old political battle lines and games. Let’s give the First District and Riverside County a fresh new start. If you would like to know about my positions, background or help the campaign, you can visit our website at: www.KevinJeffries.com.

We have a great county – let’s fight for our future.

I’d appreciate your vote on June 5th.

Respectfully,
Kevin Jeffries

I'm proud to be endorsed by:
