Six Local Area Mayors to Co-Host Kick-Off Event
Lake Elsinore: Long time Riverside County resident Kevin Jeffries will formally announce his candidacy for Riverside County Supervisor – First District at a kick-off event on April 7th.
“As a 40 year resident of the First District, I believe that my experience as a small business owner, Volunteer Fire Captain, and tax fighter at the local and state level makes me uniquely qualified to serve on the Board of Supervisors.”
Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge has endorsed Jeffries and joined with five other local area Mayors to co-host the April 7th Kick-Off of the Jeffries campaign. “Kevin Jeffries has repeatedly demonstrated that he will work tirelessly on behalf of Riverside County. Kevin’s open door policies, strong leadership and long standing community involvement will make him an outstanding County Supervisor. ”
Wildomar Mayor Marsha Swanson also joined with Loveridge and the Mayors of Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, Murrieta, and Corona to support Jeffries. “Kevin served our county for 29 years as a volunteer firefighter, fighting to save lives and our homes,” said Mayor Swanson. “He is undeniably committed to making Riverside County a safe and great place to live and work.”
Lake Elsinore Councilman and Riverside County Transportation Commissioner Bob Magee was one of the first to encourage Jeffries to run for County Supervisor. “When we needed help obtaining approvals for the future expansions of Interstate 15 and Highway 91, it was Kevin’s leadership that helped us obtain our approvals. He returns phone calls, attends crucial meetings, and fights for our county at every level. It’s refreshing” said Magee.
Congressman Ken Calvert has worked with Jeffries for over 20 years. “In 1996, Kevin worked on the crucial Prop-218 “Right To Vote On Taxes Act” campaign. I have known Kevin since he was first elected to the local water board in the early 90s. He drilled down into every budget, fought to hold the line on water rates and never forgot that he answered to the voters and taxpayers. He’s kept that intensity and dedication in every position that voters have entrusted him with.”
Jeffries will formally unveil his priorities during his April 7th campaign Kick-Off at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium. Jeffries has indicated that he will be focusing on improving the local economy and job opportunities, maintaining essential neighborhood public safety services, and seeking pension and spending reforms without new taxes.
